BACKSTORY:
Jim York's sister, Carlynn (named for their father Carl), started him on his train journey in 1989. She asked him what was the one gift that he had always wanted for Christmas as a boy. He told her that he fancied an electric train but there was no way the family could afford it. For Christmas that year, Carlynn gave Jim an LGB locomotive and sound car.
Although Carlynn passed a few years ago, she lived to see her brother's childhood Christmas wish grow to be the classic collection it is today. Jim has taken great pleasure in seeing what Cypress Electrical Systems, Inc. and Palaver Tree have done with the trains this year and hopes to make it an annual holiday experience that the kids and families of Wakulla find as much joy in the trains as he has over the years.
